Update on the inquiry into the R22 helicopter fatal near Reefton
Two Transport Accident Investigation Commission investigators were at the crash site late yesterday. They are continuing site survey work today.
The helicopter crashed into trees on the edge of a forestry block at around 370 metres above sea level.
The investigators expect to finish site survey work today and then undertake other activities including interviews before leaving the area possibly on Friday.
Arrangements are being looked at for the removal of the wreckage for further study at the Commission’s technical facility in Wellington.
