Apr 13, 2017 at 8:14 PM
STATEMENT - Attributable to Airbnb's New Zealand Country Manager, Sam McDonagh
"Today, Airbnb activated our Disaster Response Tool to assist New Zealand residents impacted by Cyclone Cook, which is expected to cause major disruptions on the North Island in the coming days. Through the Tool, local evacuees and those in need of urgent accommodations as a result of this disaster -- including first responders and volunteers -- are able to connect with Airbnb hosts in who are opening their homes free of charge from now through April 19th.
“The people of New Zealand have proven time and again that they are incredibly resilient, and we’re proud to do whatever we can to support emergency response efforts and help anyone impacted by Cyclone Cook.”
