General waste gate charges to increase

MEDIA RELEASE
General
waste gate charges to increase at Ashhurst and Bunnythorpe
stations.
Gate fees will be increased at the Ashhurst and Bunnythorpe transfer stations. Fee changes will be effective from July 1 and will apply to general rubbish waste only.
“The fees increase will ensure that the transport and disposal costs are fully funded from gate fees rather than being subsidised from the city wide targeted rate for public rubbish and recycling,” says PNCC Rubbish & Recycling Engineer Natasha Hickmott.
The two sites receive general and green waste as well as providing a recyclables drop – off point.
“We want to ensure the services provided at the transfer stations are sustainable and to avoid large fee hikes in the future, Council will undertake annual reviews and adjustments to gate charges each year through the Annual Plan process,” says Ms Hickmott.
The new charges will be:
Car boot $45
Station Wagon
$60
Van/Ute $70
Trailer $75 to $155 depending on
size
