Hawke’s Bay Tourism Conference plots path to 2030
Positioning the local tourism industry for an evolving landscape is the theme of tomorrow’s Hawke’s Bay Tourism Conference, being held at the newly renovated Napier Conference Centre.
More than 100 industry operators and supporters will gather to hear from an impressive line-up of speakers, headlined by new Tourism New Zealand CEO Stephen England-Hall and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism Paula Bennett.
Hawke’s Bay Tourism General Manager Annie Dundas says the conference, the first since 2013, is an opportunity for the industry to be part of developing a vision for tourism in Hawke’s Bay for the future.
“We’re delighted with the number of conference registrations from our industry, which demonstrates our operators are eager to learn and share ideas about how Hawke’s Bay can continue to deliver an exceptional tourism experience into the future.”
Key sessions include ‘Big data and technology’ and ‘Creating authentic and inspiring visitor experiences’, which draw on the expertise of local and national panellists including David Simmons from Tourism Holdings Limited, James Fitzgerald from the award-winning Canopy Tours in Rotorua, and Henare Johnson, Manager of Maori Projects at Air New Zealand.
The conference will be followed by the annual Hawke’s Bay Tourism Awards, which celebrate the very best of Hawke’s Bay’s tourism operators.
