Prep Work for Barkers Hill Walkway Project in Gisborne
Prep work for Barkers Hill walkway project
Arborist’s will be undertaking work on trees in the Ballance Street road reserve in preparation for construction of a footpath and drainage upgrades from the top of Barkers Hill to Shelley Road by Gisborne District Council.
The tree work will include removal of some trees and pruning by Roberts Tree Surgeons starting today Monday 28 August and is expected to be complete by Thursday.
The road will remain open but traffic management will be in place and there may be some possible delays. For safety we ask motorists and pedestrians take care in the area while work is underway.
Council engaged with residents on the installation of the walkway in 2016 as the hill is a popular pedestrian route.
Further information will be sent out to residents and community before construction on the footpath begins.
