Labour selects Brooke Loader for the Manurewa Local Board By-Election
27 November 2017
Local lawyer and community advocate Brooke Loader has secured Labour’s backing in the upcoming by-election for the Manurewa Local Board. This seat was vacated when the sitting Board Member resigned after being elected to Parliament.
Ms Loader says: “I hope to
bring a youthful presence and alternative voice to the
Manurewa Local Board. I am honoured to stand as a candidate
for the Manurewa
By-Election, and would be deeply humbled
to have the chance to represent and
serve the community
that I love.”
Ms Loader was educated at Alfriston Primary and Manurewa High School, graduating from the University of Auckland in 2010 with a Bachelor of Laws and Arts. As well as being a lawyer and mother of one, Ms Loader is an active member of the Manurewa community, having been involved in a number of Manurewa-based organisations.
Ms Loader is committed to working
alongside other members of the Local Board and working with
the Labour government to demand better outcomes for
Manurewa.
Member of Parliament Louisa Wall says: “I
am very excited about the candidacy of
Brooke Loader on
behalf of NZ Labour Party for the Manurewa local board
vacancy.
As a previous head girl of Manurewa High
School, Brooke now has the opportunity
to extend her
leadership to serve all of our Manurewa community. I know
that Brooke is a proud member of our Manurewa community, and
I look forward to supporting Brooke in her
campaign”.
