IAOPA World Assembly
Media Release – IAOPA World Assembly
Wanaka: Warbirds Over Wanaka isn’t the only major international aviation event happening in the region next March.
The International Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association’s 29th World Assembly is being held in Queenstown over the five days prior to the Airshow.
Delegates from around the world have registered to attend the Assembly which is being organised by AOPA New Zealand. Topics being covered include medical standards for private pilot licences, technology impacts on flying and the surge in popularity of Unmanned Aerial Systems more commonly known as drones.
AOPA New Zealand President, Ian Andrews, says it made sense to have the Assembly at the same time as the Airshow.
“After five days of conference many of the delegates will be looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the internationally-recognised Warbirds Over Wanaka event,” says Ian.
A number of New Zealand aircraft owners will be flying to the Assembly and will park up at Wanaka Airport for the duration of their stay.
