Storm event closures Tasman
Due to the storm surges and the impending high tides the Tasman District Council has closed the following roads and facilities;
Stafford Drive (Ruby Bay) from Pine Hill Road to the Ruby Bay Bluffs
Lower Queen St from McShane to Lansdowne Roads
Grossi Point, Mapua closed
Moturoa/Rabbit Island
Camp grounds at McKee Reserve and Kina closed until further notice
Richmond and Mariri Resource Recovery Centres with today’s rubbish and recycling suspended for the day
People are urged to take care around the coastal areas of Tasman, especially as we approach high tide (11.30am). With the gale force winds people are urged to take care on the roads with debris and possible windfall trees
With the king tides and storm surges experienced throughout today boat owners with vessels at Tarakohe harbour in Golden Bay are being contacted and advised to inspect their vessels. A number have already.
