Time to go, for marina jetty
Due to safety concerns the jetty attached to the Marina boat ramp will be removed this week.
Council's contracts and asset manager Garrett Blair wants to ensure safety at the marina boat ramp. "A recent safety assessment by our chief engineer, found the jetty has deteriorated beyond repair and needs removing"
The removal of the jetty will start this week on Wednesday 14 February and will be completed the same day.
We advise boat ramp users to keep clear of machinery while the removal is happening, and to use the ramp by the Marina restaurant as alternative access to the river.
"Replacing the jetty isn't currently an option, but that will depend on the outcome of this year's Long Term Plan" says Mr Blair.
