Craggy Range track supporters applaud retention options
Te Mata Peak Peoples’ Track Society is delighted to see that the views of supporters of the Craggy Range walking track has been factored into the decision to explore options to retain the track.
“We are hopeful that the Hastings District Council and Mana Whenua can work with Craggy Range Winery and others to find a positive solution,” says Peoples’ Track chair, George Williams.
In the 11 days since the Society launched at the end of last month, over 1000 more people have signed Rebecca McNeur’s online ‘Save the Craggy Range Walking Track’, bringing the number to over 18,500.
“It’s testament to the fact that people see real value in having the track and want their opinion known,” Mr Williams said.
The Peoples’ Track Society was formed to give a voice to those petitioners and to provide support to Hastings District Council in defending any legal proceedings that may be brought to challenge the legality of the Track.

attracted donations from 49 people and is currently sitting
at
$8175.
