Overnight closures State Highway intersection, Greymouth – Thursday and Friday nights
The NZ Transport Agency is closing Greymouth’s Marlborough St/ High St (State Highway 6) intersection this Thursday and Friday nights so contractors Tru-Line Civil can complete work on the new roundabout.
The closure will start at 6 pm Thursday night, 21 June, and the intersection will reopen at 7 am Friday morning, 22 June. The intersection will close again Fridaynight from 6 pm and reopen 7 am Saturday, 23 June.
The detour routes will be signposted southbound onto Buccleugh and Shakespeare Street and northbound Morice and Cowper Streets. (See map below)
“We are alerting freight companies to this closure and thank all drivers for taking more time around this intersection closure for these two nights,” says Margarita Gonzalez-Borrero, Maintenance Contract Manager for the Transport Agency.
Work began on the $770,000 roundabout in March and is on schedule to be completed this month.
This work is weather dependent so if it rains, the closure could be pushed out to the next dry nights.
