Go Eco appoints new Manager

Go Eco has appointed Jo Wrigley to oversee and drive forward community based environmental education, innovation and sustainable business initiatives in the Waikato region.

Located in the heart of Frankton, Go Eco is a hub of community environmental education, connection and information. Perhaps most well known for their signature project, Kaivolution Food Rescue which rescues surplus food and redistributes it to community groups.

“I am excited to strengthen networks and drive a bold vision for environmental health, food security and collaboration across the region”.

“The branding work led by outgoing manager Sonia Fursdon means we have an opportunity to grow our sustainable retail business and create a broader platform to effect change”.

“Environmental and sustainability issues are the domain of every community and we aim to support and engage with those conversations.”

Jo Wrigley is a current Trustee of Te Whare o Te Ata, Western Community Centre and WaQuy. Jo previously worked for community based social service provider, Single Parent Services Waikato and volunteered with People’s Power Community Advocacy and Education as a beneficiary advocate and community facilitator. Jo has previously stood as a Green Party candidate in both local body and general elections.

Go Eco is the trading name and brand for the Waikato Environment Centre Trust which formed out of a 1993 Hamilton City Council environmental programme and is now an independent registered charity.
