Volunteering Valued
10 August 2018
Announced as a finalist in the Rata
Foundation Champion Community Impact – Small Enterprise
category of the Westpac Champion Business Awards 2018,
Volunteering Canterbury is delighted to have acknowledgment
of its place in the community sector and contribution to
volunteering and, in turn, to the impact of volunteering in
the Canterbury region.
Not-for-profit organisations contribute 4.4% to New Zealand’s GDP, sitting alongside the construction sector. Yet 90% of these groups operate without paid staff, caring for our children, elderly, homeless, disabled people, those in danger and our environment. They do that with the engagement of volunteers!
Volunteering Canterbury ensures skilled volunteers are there for people and organisations when they need them, impacting the lives of 36,000 Cantabrians every year.
“Volunteering Canterbury - here to help you make a difference.”
