Koha Creative Collective Opens in Wellington
A new Koha based creative collective has recently opened in Wellington City. Sunday Night Club was dreamed up by Architecture student and Business Analyst, Zoe Ella when she was looking for a space to create her art.
Sunday Night Club is a community art gallery and creative space located on Level 2, 4 Bond Street, Wellington that promotes and showcases the work of local emerging creatives. The gallery aims to provide a creative collective for anyone passionate about art - no matter what their day job is.
Creator Zoe Ella states, "I wanted a space that was accessible to any artist. Often studio spaces can be costly or are targeted to a specific group, Sunday Night Club is for everyone, whether you are a local corporate worker who needs a creative outlet or a student looking for a space to create a project. All we ask for is Koha, so contribute what you can".
The collective currently has a mix of 10 artists who use the space, varying from business owners, corporates and students.
As a Koha funded space, they rely on the generosity of art lovers for funding. Sunday Night Club have an opening exhibition on the 8th September 2018 where they will debut the studio space and have artwork from both emerging and established artists for sale.
Both long term and short term studio space is available to hire for workshops, exhibitions and personal use. Please contact Zoe Ella at hello@sundaynightclub.co.nz for more information.
