Chamber welcomes support for Whitireia
The announcement today of a $15 million capital injection for Porirua-based Whitireia polytechnic has been welcomed by Porirua Chamber of Commerce.
Chair Nick Leggett says it was known that Whitireia was struggling financially, and the move by the Government will ensure it is able to continue business as usual.
“This is great news for Porirua because Whitireia plays a big part in the life of the city.
“The Chamber welcomes the fact that the Minister is assuring current students that they can complete their courses and that future students should have the confidence to enrol.
“The Porirua business community needs to continue to support Whitireia as it continues to deliver graduates of high quality.”
