Hot air balloon festival drops in on Thames
For the first time ever, the spectacular Balloons over Waikato festival will be shared with the community of Thames next month.
The premier hot air balloon festival will be coming to the Thames Racecourse, 509 Parawai Rd, on Friday 22 March, 3:30pm - 8pm.
The Thames Business Association and Totally Thames, supported by our Council, are bringing the joy of the Balloons over Waikato event and sharing it with the community with a fun evening planned for those lucky residents of Thames and surrounding communities.
This is a free event for the whole family. There will be 5 hot air balloons, food stalls galore and free kite flying.
"This is a fantastic event for Thames, the Thames Racecourse is the emerging destination for events. We are excited, enthusiastic and thrilled at the prospect of what the future has in store for utilising this awesome venue" says Mayor Sandra Goudie.
Come and enjoy the fun at the Thames Racecourse, the party starts at 3.30pm for kite flying and runs until 8pm.
