Metlink Provides Free Buses for Hutt Community Gatherings

Metlink is providing free fares on buses this Wednesday (20 March) as people gather at community events in the Hutt Valley.

Free travel on buses will be available from 6pm to 9pm for people attending the events:

• Hutt City Council is holding a gathering at Hutt Recreation Ground, starting at 7pm.

• Upper Hutt City Council and the Multicultural Society are holding a community gathering at the ‘green space’ opposite the Civic Centre and Expressions Whirinaki, starting at 5pm. People will be able to travel home for free from this event.

Traffic is expected to be heavy before and after the events. Metlink advises all passengers to check the Metlink website and app before travelling.

Our thoughts are with Christchurch and the Muslim community.
