Whangarei's Ticket Office now at The Hub

If you are about to buy tickets for a show, take note that Whangārei’s box office has shifted from Forum North to Te Manawa, The Hub, at the Town Basin.

The new location is much more accessible, especially for customers who use mobility scooters or wheelchairs, or those who find using stairs to be difficult.

“The new site is all on one level which makes it much easier for our customers. It is in the middle of the Town Basin and close to shops, eateries, gallery, the playground and for people doing the Loop. It has a good atmosphere and is also open seven days a week.

“People in wheelchairs could use a lift to get into the box office when it was at Forum North, but the lift was too small for scooters,” said Council’s Venues & Events Manager Carina de Graaf.

“The box office at the Hub will sell tickets for all the same shows and events Forum North box office covered and will remain the agency for Ticketek and sell tickets on behalf of Ticketmaster, Ticket Rocket and Eventfinda.

“When events are being held at the Capitaine Bougainville Theatre at Forum North, door sales will be available at the old café an hour before the show.

“We will have signs up at Forum North, and a flier showing how to get to the new ticket office, but Whangārei people are pretty adaptable so I think word will get around quite quickly,” said Mrs de Graaf.
