morning.
Work completed on 10 April
2019
• Very wet weather overnight Tuesday and all of
Wednesday, with no access to the riverbed possible, so
completion schedule delayed slightly.
• Bailey bridge
launch successful to the north side.
Work programme
for 11 April 2019
• Dismantling and removing of old
bridge sections (these were used to launch the replacement
bridge to the north side of the river).
• Begin placing
the new Bailey bridge on piers and install bridge load
distribution beams.
• Continue fitting the bridge
decking.
• Start building the new bridge
approaches.
• Finalise planning for all work needed
once the bridge has opened. This includes pedestrian access,
guardrails and lighting.
