Taupo - SH1 closed following roadside bushfire - Bay of Plenty

Police are assisting Fire and Emergency New Zealand with cordons at a roadside bushfire on State Highway 1.

State Highway 1 will be closed north of Waitahanui, about 15km south of Taupo.

Diversions will be in place.
