Council services over Christmas and New Year

Marlborough District Council’s Blenheim office is closed from 12.00 noon on Tuesday 24 December and reopens at 8.00 am on Monday 6 January 2020.

However, if you see something that requires urgent attention over the holiday period, please call 03 520 7400 and follow the instructions to reach our after-hours assistance.

Picton Library hours

Bus services

The Blenheim and Picton bus services will not operate on the following days:
Christmas Day: Wed 25 Dec
Boxing Day: Thurs 26 Dec
New Year’s Day: Wed 1 Jan
Day after New Year’s Day: Thurs 2 Jan

Normal services operate on all other days.

Rubbish and recycling

All transfer stations, the Waste Sorting Centre, Resource Recovery Centre, Greenwaste Acceptance Facility and Composting, and the landfill are closed on Christmas Day, Wednesday 25 December. Normal services resume on Thursday 26 December 2019.

Rubbish bags and recycling crates normally collected on Wednesdays will be collected on Tuesday 24 Dec and Tuesday 31 Dec.

Boxing Day and the day after New Year’s Day
Rubbish bags and recycling crates normally collected on Thursdays will be collected on Friday 27 December and Friday 3 January.
