Northland Police Seek Footage Following Altercation In Whangārei

Northland Police are continuing to investigate after a large altercation on Walton Street, Whangārei this morning.
Police were called around 10:50am after reports of a group of 10 males fighting and smashing vehicles.
In the altercation, a car was driven into a person from one of the parties involved and seriously injured them.
Another was moderately injured after being assaulted.
A handful of people were arrested, including a youth, and charged with a range of offences, including possession of an offensive weapon and wounding with intent.
Enquiries are continuing and there may be additional arrests or charges as information comes available.
Police have zero tolerance to violence and would like to reassure the community that such incidents are taken extremely seriously.
Police are appealing for any cellphone or CCTV footage from the altercation.
