Update – Onehunga Homicide

Police have now charged a man with the murder of Maria Brown.
A homicide investigation was launched after the 77-year-old was found deceased at her Onehunga address on 5 June, 2022.
A 49-year-old man has today been charged with murder and arson.
He is due to appear in the Auckland District Court on Thursday 21 July.
Police want to acknowledge Maria's family and friends during this extremely difficult time.
As this matter is before the Court, Police have no further comment.
