Russell, 74, has been missing in the Paraparaumu Beach area since around 4pm this afternoon.
He was last seen wearing a cream-coloured tracksuit and walks with a cane.
Russell does not know the area well.
Police and his loved ones are concerned for his wellbeing and would like to see him return home.
