Voters Being Turned Off
John Lehmann, Mayoral candidate for Auckland says the Auckland local elections are being turned into a circus, and fears going to get worse and hit new lows.
Lehmann said, the city is in a real mess and needs ideas, visions, and direction from candidates. All we are seeing in the main is, name calling, put downs, personal attacks. Some are trying to introduce ‘’Trump’’ style politicking which isn’t what Kiwis want.
This new form of showmanship is not informative. Aucklanders want and deserve proper information telling them what every candidate stands for. He says all we seem to be getting is big noting, egos, and whose got the most Facebook likes.
I haven’t seen one detailed blueprint. Aucklanders are being turned off big time. Voters want answers, a vision, and someone to steer the city into a new phase.
Lehmann asks fellow candidates to tone it down, retain staff, and not use the Mayoralty as a soap box for insults and egos. He said what we have seen in the last couple of weeks is shocking and insulting to voters. He said candidates should show some class and stop the shock type politicking we’ve seen of late.
