UPDATE: Operation Polar, New Plymouth Homicide
Detective Senior Sergeant Gerard Bouterey:
Police
investigating the homicide of a man in New Plymouth this
week are
seeking help from the public.
Rei
Marshall, 23, of Okato was brought to Taranaki Base Hospital
by
associates on the evening of Wednesday 3 August, but
passed away from his
injuries.
Officers have
completed a scene examination at an address on South
Road,
Blagdon in relation to Mr Marshall's
death.
As part of our inquiries, Police are seeking
assistance from anyone who has
dashcam footage who
travelled along South Road, between Spotswood College
and
Blagdon Road, between 4pm and 7:15pm on Wednesday 3
August.
We are also seeking any witnesses who were
travelling along that same stretch
of South Road between
6:45pm and 7:15pm who may have seen any
unusual
activity.
In particular, we are keen to
hear from anyone who was flagged down or
stopped by
people standing on the road, or anyone who saw vehicles
driving
erratically.
