Reportedly, the moral revulsion being felt around the world at Israel’s actions in Gaza has induced 24 countries to sign a joint letter calling on Israel to cease its onslaught, and to“end now” the Gaza conflict. While overdue, the letter would have carried more weight if – in the event of Israel’s (likely) non-compliance – it had included the threat of sweeping economic sanctions against Israel, with immediate effect.
