Police can confirm one person has died following a serious crash in Russell this morning

Emergency services responded to the crash, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Russell Whakapara Road, around 10.35am.

Sadly, the pedestrian received critical injuries and died at the scene.

Police extend our condolences to their friends and family at this difficult time.

The Serious Crash Unit was in attendance and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash remain ongoing.
