Police’s Use Of Force During The Waikeria Prison Riot Justified
On 29 December 2020, Police were called to help Corrections deal with a riot that broke out at Waikeria Prison and lasted until 3 January 2021. The Authority found that the Police’s use of force to defend themselves and Corrections staff during that time was justified.
