Arrest Made In Relation To Damage At Te Anau Domain
A young person has been arrested in relation to extensive damage at Te Anau Domain Grounds over the weekend.
Police were notified of the damage, which had been caused by a vehicle doing skids, on Sunday 25 August.
Enquiries led Police to the vehicle and a 17-year-old male, who will now go through a youth justice process.
Constable Derek Dudley of Te Anau Police says it’s extremely disappointing seeing this kind of senseless damage caused in our community.
“A lot of money, time and effort go into the upkeep of these grounds, and they should be for everyone to enjoy.
“We won’t tolerate this kind of reckless behaviour and we are glad to have arrested someone so they can be held account.”
Police are keen to hear from anyone who observes damage or theft going on in the community.
Call 111 if it is happening now, or make a report after the fact through our 105 service.
