Term Extended For Acting Secretary For Education
Deputy Public Service Commissioner Rebecca Kitteridge today announced the appointment of Ellen MacGregor-Reid as acting Secretary for Education for a further year.
Ms MacGregor-Reid has been acting Secretary for Education since last October, when the previous Secretary’s term ended.
During this period, Ms MacGregor-Reid has undertaken important work to lift the Ministry’s performance and to support the substantial changes underway in the education sector. Ms MacGregor-Reid is ideally positioned to take this work to the next stage.
“The Ministry and sector require continuity of leadership, including her immediate and ongoing focus,” Ms Kitteridge said.
“I have therefore decided to appoint Ms MacGregor-Reid as acting Secretary for a further year”.
“Ms MacGregor-Reid has been instrumental in progressing Government priorities in the education portfolio, and I am grateful she has agreed to stay on and drive them further forward.”
Ms MacGregor-Reid’s substantive role is as Deputy Secretary, Curriculum Centre at the Ministry of Education. Before joining the Ministry, Ms MacGregor-
Reid worked at the Treasury and held leadership positions at the Ministry of Social Development, and the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
