Homicide In Manurewa – A Call For Community Support And Solidarity
We are deeply saddened and concerned by the tragic incident that occurred on Mahia Road, Manurewa this morning, which has resulted in the loss of a life from our community.
This is not just a police matter — this is someone’s son, someone’s brother, someone’s whānau member who did not make it home. At the Whānau Ora Community Clinic, our thoughts and aroha are with the family and loved ones of the man who passed away. We stand in support of them and of the wider Manurewa community during this painful time.
We urge anyone who may have seen or heard something, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, to come forward and speak with the Police. Your kōrero could provide the missing piece needed to bring clarity, accountability, and some measure of peace to the grieving whānau.
Violence has no place in our communities. As whānau, neighbours, and community members, we all have a responsibility to uphold the safety and well-being of each other. If you are struggling or need support, our doors are open. We are here to walk alongside you.
This incident took place down the road from one of our practices, and our community has been shaken up.
Anyone with information can contact the Police directly or anonymously through Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
Let us not remain silent. Let us stand together.
