Some Oceanbeach Road Houses Without Water Due To Broken Water Main
A broken water main occurred in Oceanbeach Road, Mount Maunganui at 2:20am. In order to fix this, the water supply was shut off at 4:50am and some houses will be without water for up to 8 hours.
House numbers 273-367 Oceanbeach Road are affected. Downer will be on site from 7am to supply residents with bottled water. If residents are in urgent need of water, they should phone Council’s contact centre 07 577 7000.
The water main has broken underneath a power pole. Contractors are in the process of fixing this as quickly as possible in order to restore services, and the cause of this will be investigated in due course.
Traffic management is in place. Try to avoid the area if possible as there may be some delays in your journey.
