State Highway 1 Reopens After Recovery Of Crashed Truck
A section of State Highway 1 in South Canterbury that was closed earlier this afternoon, so that a crashed truck could be recovered, is now reopened.
The crash this morning at Studholme, near Waimate, resulted in the truck being in a ditch and its trailer partially blocking the highway. Traffic management was in place this morning to work around the trailer.
The closure was in effect from about 12.30pm between Molloys Rd and McNamaras Rd, while a crane was used to recover the truck from the ditch.
Following the reopening of SH1 this afternoon, traffic management and a temporary speed limit of 30km/h are in place at the crash site while roading repairs are carried out.
