Candidate Nominations Open Today
Nominations open today for candidates who wish to stand for Marlborough District Council in this year’s local government elections.
Completed nomination documents must be received by the Electoral Officer no later than 12 noon on Friday 1 August 2025. Each nomination must be accompanied by a deposit of $200 (incl. GST).

Candidates must be New Zealand citizens and use the appropriate nomination form for each available electoral position, which are: the Mayor; Blenheim Ward (seven councillor positions); Marlborough Sounds Ward (three councillors); Wairau-Awatere Ward (three councillors); and Marlborough Māori Ward (one councillor).
