UPDATE: SH8 reopens after fatal crash
A section of State Highway 8 in Central Otago has reopened after a fatal crash this morning.
The highway was closed between Roxburgh and Millers Flat after the two-vehicle crash at 11.15am. Police reported one person died as a result of the crash.
Those travelling through the area, including those driving to Dunedin for tomorrow’s rugby test match, were urged to avoid the area, delay travel or use the detours available.
The highway reopened this evening after police completed its crash investigations, and debris was cleared from the site.
