Bus Timetable Changes For Northern Suburbs From Sunday 13 July
Bus timetable changes including increased services and extended bus routes will be in effect for the Northern suburbs as of Sunday 13 July, improving morning commutes for Wellington Hospital workers and access to services for Summerset on the Landing residents.
Earlier services have been added to Route 52 to improve connections to the Hospital Express at Wellington Railway Station, with the first leaving Johnsonville at 5.38am and another at 5.58am.
There will also be extra services and changes to the 56, 57, 58, 60, and 60e routes.
Changes to routes 60 and 60e will improve access to services for Summerset on the Landing residents, after feedback on the Tawa On Demand trial and the opening of Kārearea Avenue and Lower Main Drive.
The bus operator for these routes, Mana-Newlands Coach Services, will also introduce two electric buses into their fleet – the first in their network, outside of the fully electric Airport Express service that they run.
Bus timetables are adjusted four times a year, aligning with the school term and university trimesters. Metlink regularly analyses patronage data to refine service design and prioritise efficiency.
