Fourteen Candidates Entered For Upcoming Kaipara Elections
As of 25 July, six additional candidates have joined the race for Kaipara District Council’s local elections, to be held in October.
Candidate nominations remain open until 12 noon on Friday 1 August 2025.
New candidates submitted this week:
For Mayor (one vacancy):
- No new nominations week 21 July
For the Kaiwaka-Mangawhai Ward (three vacancies):
- Nima Maleiki
- Rachael Ellen Williams
For the Otamatea Ward (two vacancies):
- Roger James Billington
- Fiona Kemp
For the Wairoa Ward (three vacancies):
- Jan Beatty
- Brian Douglas Jackson
Please note that nominations are subject to approval by the Electoral Officer.

Nomination forms can be collected from Kaipara District Council offices, requested by calling 0800 727 059, or downloaded from the council website at kaipara.govt.nz/elections or from https://esp.electionservices.co.nz/lge2025/KA.
The provisional list of candidates will be available on 1 August 2025.

Information
Voting papers will be mailed
from Friday 9 September. Voters who update their details or
enrol after Friday 1 August will need to cast a special
vote. Voting closes at 12 noon on Saturday 11
October.
