Candidates Confirmed For Marlborough Local Elections
Nominations for election to Marlborough District Council closed at midday today. Candidates standing for the 2025 elections are listed below.
The elections are held by postal vote, beginning on Friday 9 September and closing at 12 noon on Saturday 11 October. Orange ballot bins will also be made available in multiple locations around the district for people to deposit their voting paper.

Electoral Officer Dean Heiford said it was important that residents have their say on who represents the Marlborough community by voting in the 2025 elections.

“Councillors make important decisions about our daily lives and the future of our towns and communities.”
Marlborough is a unitary council, combining the responsibilities of both a district and a regional council into one. It manages local roads, parks and reserves, community facilities, libraries, water services, waste management, building consents and resource management, regional planning, public transport and emergency management, amongst other functions.
