Help Create Marlborough's Venue Directory

Venue operators are invited to identify Marlborough’s creative and cultural spaces, through an online survey.
Arts, Culture and Heritage Manager Nicci Neilson said the aim is to build an online directory of venues to help promoters, event organisers and musicians.
“The responses will contribute to a new Creative Marlborough website, a regional platform to showcase local talent, events and venues.
“The goal is to better understand the range of venues available, particularly those suitable for creative, cultural and touring performances.
“We want to raise the profile of Marlborough’s venues with touring artists and promoters.”
The survey asks those taking part to describe the suitability of their venue, including its capacity, amenities, accessibility, technical capability and availability.
“Venue owners, operators and community groups are encouraged to complete the survey and share it with others involved in hosting or managing events in Marlborough.
“Cultural and music events make a significant contribution to our social and economic wellbeing, and support the hospitality and tourism sectors.”
The Creative Marlborough website will provide improved visibility and access to spaces for creative use, enabling a stronger arts and culture ecosystem across Marlborough. The work is part of the implementation of the regional Te Atatū Strategy, which aims to strengthen Marlborough’s creative and cultural sector.
