SH1 Travel To Be Affected By Culvert Installation
Road users are being urged to factor into their travel upcoming work on State Highway 1 in Mid Canterbury, as a new culvert is installed by contractors.
Weather-permitting, the work is due to begin on Monday 18 August, at the flood-prone site between Hinds and Ashburton. The work, including drainage improvement, is due to be carried out each day from 6am to 6pm, through to Friday 22 August.
Motorists can expect delays up to 15 minutes because of only a single lane operating with stop/go traffic management. Both lanes will be operating during night-time hours.
The work may be rescheduled for the following week is the weather is poor.
