Green Waste Collection To Reopen Friday
The urgent repairs being carried out at Council’s green waste facility are due to be finished tomorrow and the site fully operational Friday morning.
Solid Waste Manager Mark Lucas said the repairs were for essential maintenance.
“There is still work being carried out in the lower area (tyre yard) so a heightened level of awareness is required until these are finished,” he said.
Residential customers were asked to hold on to their green waste while urgent repairs were carried out at the Blenheim Transfer Station, off George Conroy Drive.
The repairs were for essential maintenance and the collection area was closed off while heavy machinery reconfigured the space.
“We thank people for their understanding,” Mr Lucas said. “The temporary closure helped us complete the upgrades quickly, with minimal holdups.”
