Wellington Needs A New Slogan?
Thomas Morgan, Wellington City Council Eastern Ward Candidate is wondering if the current city slogan used by the council ‘Absolutely Positively Wellington’ has reached its use by date. The slogan was developed by Saatchi & Saatchi and Wellington Newspapers Ltd 24 years ago and the original promotional video can be seen here:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UssWFaY9NyY
When asked about an alternative idea he quickly suggested ‘Wild, Wild, Wellington’ which would reflect the wild weather, the city’s first female mayor Fran Wilde and perhaps the wild times people can have in the city. Morgan said he would also be quite happy with whatever the community wanted via an on-line poll.
“With a seemingly low satisfaction rating it could be said that not too many people are all that positive about the council and the council telling people to be positive probably isn’t helping the situation either- for the staff or the public.
“It’s a fairly minor issue however anything to lift the spirit of the city is helpful and I’m up for a competition to replace the slogan as soon as possible!” Morgan said.
More of Morgan’s ideas can be found here and of course he would rather like the No.1 vote of Wellington’s Eastern Ward residents:- https://www.facebook.com/VoteThomasMorgan
