Wind Warning – Auckland Harbour Bridge Tomorrow
High winds may impact the Auckland Harbour Bridge for road users tomorrow, Thursday 18 September, with MetService advising some gusts potentially reaching 75- 85km/h between 9am and 2pm.
To ensure safety, the bridge will only have 4 lanes open in each direction for the morning peak.
Motorist are advised to drive to the conditions and pay attention to electronic message boards on the motorway, which will advise if any lane closures and reduced speed limits are required.
If there is potential for sudden and high wind gusts on the bridge, lowering the speed limit gives motorists time to react and take more care.
