SH1 Reopens Following Crash Closure

UPDATE: 11.40am – SH1 reopens following crash closure
State Highway 1 has reopened as vehicle recovery continues after a crash near Cheviot in North Canterbury.
The highway between Reeves Street and Nonoti Road has reopened, but with vehicle recovery efforts continuing, road users should expect delays as traffic is managed through the area.

9.10am – SH1 closure for vehicle recovery after crash
Following a vehicle crash this morning near Cheviot in North Canterbury, State Highway 1 is due to close from 9.30am to 11.30am to allow vehicle recovery.
The highway will be closed between Reeves Street and Nonoti Road. No detour is available, and people are asked to avoid the area during this time, or to delay their travel through this area if possible.
An update will be provided when the road reopens.
