Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road – October Night Closures At Pāpāmoa East Interchange

Work at the Pāpāmoa East Interchange continues during October. To safely construct the bridge deck and barriers, closures of the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road / State Highway 2 are required on a number of nights this month. Closures will see traffic diverted via Te Puke Highway between 8pm and 5am each night.
To pour the concrete bridge deck, the first of the night closures is scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, 9 October 2025. Additional closures will take place on 16 October (both directions), 22 October (eastbound only), and 23 October (westbound only). Please be aware that closures will shift to the next night should the weather prevent the work going ahead on the planned date.
Details on all closures are shared with the community via digital signs at the entry to the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road, as well as in Tauranga City Council and NZTA bulletins.
Once progress allows later in the year, we’ll remove the steel barriers supporting the current lane reduction during another night closure.
