Preliminary Results Of Kāpiti Coast District Council Election Announced
Kāpiti Coast District Council preliminary results are declared as provisionally elected or not elected.
Our preliminary results reflect about 95% of votes returned but do not include special votes. Special votes are referred to the Electoral Commission for validation. Their process can take several days.
Preliminary results give us a good indication of what our Council, Community Boards and the Māori Ward referendum might look like. But it is important to note, final results are not expected until Friday 17 October.
Preliminary results show Janet Holborow is provisionallyre-electedMayor of the Kāpiti Coast District.
Preliminary results provisionally indicate the Kapiti Coast Māori Ward will remain in place for the 2028 and 2031 local elections.
The following candidates are provisionally elected to the Council for the 2025-28 triennium. Note, there are a couple of changes from yesterday’s progress results. These are for the Kapiti Coast Māori Ward and the Waikanae Community Board.

Final results - the final confirmed results of all votes are legally required to be announced by Sunday 19 October however, we hope to release them on Friday 17 October. Results are not final until they are declared by the electoral officer.
