NZCT Backs Chinese Youth Trust To Lead The Way
New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT) has awarded the New Zealand Chinese Youth Trust (NZCYT) a $5,000 grant, helping the organisation continue delivering meaningful programmes that empower Chinese youth and strengthen community connections across Aotearoa.

NZCYT Manager Trucy Qin says, “Our goal is to equip Chinese youth with the skills, confidence, and opportunities necessary to contribute positively to New Zealand society. This generous support from NZCT will help us maintain full-time leadership and operational capacity, both of which are vital for sustaining and growing our organisation.”
As a small charitable trust with no permanent staff, NZCYT relies on external funding to sustain its core services ensuring continuity of youth and cultural programmes, engagement with schools and community partners, and the development of volunteers and youth leaders.
Ruhan Fan, Youth Leadership Development Trainee says, “I learned how to be more responsible and how to communicate with children, teachers, and other leaders.”
Judy Lin, Christian Youth Church says, “We’re so grateful for your teaching – your kindness and patience inspired the children to learn first aid and to care for others with love and responsibility.”
NZCT’s GM of Grants, Marketing and Communications, Ben Hodges, says, “It’s great to see young people gaining confidence, leadership, and a sense of belonging through NZCYT. They’re doing great work helping kids connect with their culture and community and we’re thrilled to play a small part in keeping that going. Our thanks go to our responsible gambling partners across Auckland who made this grant possible”
