Whangarei District Council 2025 Local Government Election Final Results
The official declaration of final results in the 2025 Whangārei District Council local government election has been released.
With all votes now counted, Ken Couper has taken the Mayoralty with 12418 votes, followed by Vince Cocurullo in second position with 11983 votes, and Marie Olsen with 8323 votes.
Whangārei’s voters have chosen to disestablish the District’s Māori Ward.
Whangarei District Council Chief Executive Simon Weston thanked all candidates in the election for their vision, courage and commitment to their communities.
