State Highway 88/Anzac Avenue between Frederick Street and Hanover Street has reopened after tree works.
21 October, 12.15pm – SH88 in Dunedin closed again
Dunedin’s State Highway 88/Anzac Avenue between Frederick Street and Hanover Street has been closed again today, following yesterday’s blockage due to a fallen tree. A water main was also affected.
Today’s closure is for tree works. Road users should follow the sign-posted detours.
20 October, 3.45pm – Northbound lane of SH88 reopens after tree cleared
Clearance of a fallen tree has enabled the reopening of the northbound lane of Dunedin’s State Highway 88/Anzac Avenue between Frederick Street and Harrow Street.
However, the southbound lane remains closed as a damaged water main is addressed by CityCare Water staff. A detour is available via ward Street.
20 October, 12.50pm – Fallen tree closes SH88 in Dunedin
Roading teams are working to clear a fallen tree on Dunedin’s State Highway 88/Anzac Avenue that has forced the closure of the road between Frederick Street and Harrow Street.
The fallen tree is one of several events linked to strong winds that are impacting much of the South Island at present.
Road users should avoid this closed section of State Highway 88/Anzac Avenue and use alternative routes.
